I have a few friends were asking me about my LA trip after they read my travel post during our last week gathering. If you haven't read it, you can click the direct link at here. :) They said LA looks fun and nice to visit and they want me to suggest where to stay if they are planning to go there. So, after I went through some websites and hereI decided to make a post for them and whoever travels toLA soon. Hotels in LA are not cheap at all, especially if you want to stay in the downtown areas. When I was travelling in the States last time, my friends and Iusually went for the motels or boutiquehotels instead of the big hotels since they have good rooms and services but with better rates. Motel 6 Hollywood
The main reason for choosing theMotel 6 Hollywood is because of it's location.
You'll find it just 0.4 miles from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It's one of the budget hotel in the downtown area and provides allbasic featuressuch as Wi-fi, flat panel screen TV with expanded cable, complimentary morning coffee, mini-refrigerator, and so on. You can book the room from Hipmunk for an average of US$50 to US$100. W Hollywood
W Hollywood has expensive rooms that cost anywhere from US$250 to US$500 per night. The rooms are costly because they not only provide flat screen TVs, but also DVD players, snacks boxes, minibars, marble bathrooms, and work desks. For a relaxing trip, You may consider this hotel as you can kickstart your morning engine warm up at their 24 hours fitness center, then enjoy a nice lunch with their different dining options, and end your night with a cocktail at the rooftop poolside bar. Loews Hollywood Hotel
Loews Hollywood Hotel is the one I love the most, not only because it is close to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the TCL Chinese Theatre, but also because the rooms furnishings are modern and classic. Besides, the hotel also provides an outdoor pool, fitness center and spa; you can also ask for the room with the views of the LA Skyline too.
Their rooms and suites are available for between US$250 to US$600 per night.
Magic Castle Hotel Magic Castle Hotel is a mid-priced hotel which charges between US$150 and US$300 per night. The room provides not only full kitchens, coffee/tea makers, and refrigerators in their suites, but visitors can also enjoy the large pool, and loungers are located poolside for afternoon sunbathing.
The Redbury @ Hollywood and Vine
If you like something fancy and vintage styling, you may consider the Redbury @ Hollywood and Vine. It's a fabulous boutique hotel in the heart of downtown which provides all the same basic amenities like the above hotels. Moreover, the hotel also has the stylish indoor and outdoor cocktail lounge and fitness center. Hipmunk has a good average rate with this hotel at US$250 per night.
A good vacation is not about staying in the luxury hotels or taking the fabulous airlines, but enjoying the unique local experiences.
Plan your trip early to get better rates for your accommodation and flight, and who knows? Maybe you'll score a fantastic deal.
Hello from Korea again!
I just blogged yesterday and now I am back here again to write a new one. #wootwoot
But, this post is gonna be a short one as I would like to share the outfits that I picked for my vacation in Korea.
This would be my first outfit styling post and I hope you enjoy it darlingsss! #thankyou
On first day.
Comfortable outfit is pretty important when I am on the airplane.
So, stretchable long pants and a loose t-shirt are so right for the airplane mood!
A bit too bored? A long scarf can be a perfect accessory to enhance the look of your clothes and also keep you warm inside the flight.
On the second day
Inner white t-shirt is one of the fashion essentials for me to match the sweaters in my luggage.
Most of the time, I find plain white t-shirt is much better than the t-shirts with graphics to complete the outfits. #trustmenot?
On the third day
It is quite unlikely that I will wear skirt on my travel days.
But this outfit makes me feel as comfortable as I'm wearing my jeans, and I like how the blue sweater adds a vibrant to the entire outfit. Hey! Say it cool! #lol
On the forth day
I like wearing long pants and boots during the cold weather vacation.
So, medium boot becomes one of the essential accessories on my styling list.
If you do not have one yet, I suggest you to get one since it will help to complete most of your outfits. I got mine one from taobao and it has a good quality with reasonable price. :)
On the fifth day
I don't like to add too many layers on me, one of the reasons is because it makes me look fatter and other reasons is because it looks too much.
A combination of a simple sweater over a collared shirt would be the easiest matching yet stylish outfit!
On the sisth day
I like striking and bright clothing when going travelling, that's because bright colours make you look happier and contrast in your photos.
Besides, I also believe bright colours will often be more attractive and easily draw more attention. #hehe
Okay! That's all for today!
Wish you all have a lovely weekend, and remember to stay fabulous! :)
Hello pretties! Hello handsome!
I know I have been missing for quite a while, that's because I recently traveled to Australia for 17 days.
I have been stressed out generally before the trip, and I feel so bless that the trip came on time to throw my stresses away!
Now I am back with full of positive vibes and I am so ready to share my vacation in Korea during last year Oct.
I know it's already like 6 months ago, but still hope you will enjoy the journeys that I gonna share with you all!
It's been 2 years since I last went to Korea, the city still looks so awesome for me!
You wouldn't know how excited I was once my tickets confirmed since Korea is my top favorite country.
It has #1 the Kimchi and Soju I like, #2 the fashion styles suit me, #3 the skincare and cosmetic that I apply everyday, #4 the cooling weather that couldn't get in Malaysia, and #5 the handsome oppa. #lol
How can I stop loving Korea after so many reasons?!
Me and my gfs made a spontaneous travel plan somewhere in the beginning of Oct before I head off to Turkey!
Jane and May even bought their air tickets just 2 days ago before we flew off! #whatacrazytrip
Crazy?! Yea that's gonna be a crazy gfs trip ever!
So, are you ready with us now?! Let's GO!
We decided to pay a visit in Busan before Seoul since we have heard so many compliments from our friends about this place.
Busan is not as big as Seoul, but just as much fun as Seoul.
The people there are so friendly and helpful, and it has gorgeous natural scenery!
We shopped a lot in Busan and I was surprised that the clothing in Busan are much cheaper than in Seoul.
The clothing we found in Busan is at average 10,000 won, which is about RM34 based on the current rate.
I think we had already over-spent in Busan before we departed to Seoul. #ohman
We had the Twin Pork Soup which is the top specialty food in Busan.
It's so good to have the clear white soup with the fresh meat when you have the cold weather outside.
And of course, some Ice-Shaved Bingsu for our dessert in Korea!
On the second day of our trip in Busan, we headed to the beautiful Gumcheon Culture Village.
This place is the main reason for me to visit Busan actually and I was so happy that I finally make it here with my gals!
It's a beautiful plus colorful place with lots of things to explore such as unique cafe visiting, art installation, interesting painted walls, colourful houses and so on.
It's definitely a nice walk here and I enjoy every single moment I have left in the village!
While I was doing some homework for the trip, there are many people commented that the Jagalchi Market is well worth a visit.
So, we decided to get our lunch there since taxi transfer only took 10 to 15 mins from the village.
It's a real interesting market which full of all kind of seafood, and all of them are superb fresh and in big sizes.
If I am not mistaken, most of the seafood catch and sell on the same day, and that's why you have no doubt about the freshness of the raw food.
One of the highlight you must have it here is the Live Nakji (octopus).
It's a raw dish, which the small octopus has been cut into small pieces while still alive.
It served immediately on the plate and you will still see all pieces are still squirming on the plate.
Watch my vlog and you will see how funny we were while eating the nakji! #hehe
It's all GOOD!
And I think your trip to Busan wouldn't be complete without visiting the Jagalchi Market, because of the #1 fresh seafood, #2 market environment, and #3 reasonable price!
We also took a long ride, about 45 mins, from Jagalchi Market to the famous Haeundae Beach.
The beach was a bit disappointing as it is not as interesting as what we thought it would be.
Or I should say it would be a good place for relaxing here for a whole day but not just for a short walk unless you don't need a long travel time like us.
It's a peaceful beach, which probably because we came here during weekdays.
I bet this place will have higher crowds and much more happening throughout the weekend.
The last destination in Busan was the Busan Tower and Yongdusan Park.
We decided to forgo entering the tower but just admire the tower from the ground.
However, we are lucky that we found a good spot whereby we can have a panoramic view of Busan!
I doubt we missed out anything since we really had a lot of fun there!
We laughed loud and long, talked nonsense and took all funny pictures.
Well, I trust that would be our most precious memories from this trip!
One of the funny picture we took at the Yongdusan Park. #haha #haha
For beer lover, I want to introduce their local beer, Cass.
And for the chicken lover, you must not miss out the Korean Fried Chicken which comes with different flavours!
I like the soy source and garlic flavour the most!
And, among all the local street foods in Korea, fish cake is my top favourite!
This is the best to enjoy on the street of Korea!
We have been knowing each other since high school, and this is our first trip together after knowing for 23 years!
Seoul, FINALLY!
It took us about 2.5 hour from Busan to Seoul by the KTX express train.
It's fast, convenient, comfortable and we all had a delightful experience with it.
Having your breakie outside at their convenient store can be one good experience in Korea for you :)
And, don't forget about the Banana Milk!
Since it's my second time in Seoul, we didn't spend a lot of the time at the attraction places.
That's also because my ladies they enjoy shopping more than everything! #lol
But, we visited Ewha Womans University at one in the morning.
It's a very beautiful place to visit.
Th building structure is unique, especially at the central and it definitely has a good atmosphere for studying.
I thought if I would have the chance to study at such beautiful university, I probably will score all "Ä"s. #haha
And the best thing about Ewha Womans University is, it has a nice Edae Street to do our shopping!
We find it is the best place to shop for clothing, shoes and bags in Seoul.
We actually wanted to go back again but unfortunately no time after that!
Well, next time perhaps?! #when?
To Jung Yong Hwa fans, do not get jealous ya! #lol
I am a K-drama queen!
I watch at least one episode before I go to bed everyday. #howcrazy
Visiting the Coffee Smith in Hongdae is one of the thing I wanted to do in Seoul.
Guess pictures tell everything!
I was sitting at where Park Yoo Chun sit when he was filming the drama "the girl who sees smells" #happykidissohappy
We were at the Bukchon Village on our 3rd day in Seoul.
This is my second time traveled to here, and I don't mind to come back again because this small little place offer a pleasant walk around the traditional Korean style homes through the alleys.
You will always find some surprises from this place as it has many hidden cafes, and shops around the area.
You can click here to read my previous post about Bukchon Village.
We found a very good Samgyetang (Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup) before we entered to the village and this is one of the best food we want to recommend after we came back home.
It's Park Yoo Chun with me again! #hehe
There is an accessories shop outside the village which offers quite a reasonable price.
Do not forget to drop by if you want to get any necklaces, hair accessories, ear rings or bracelets.
We didn't do much in Gangnam, but only for a short experience with the plastic surgery hospitals and also have some light foods over there.
Nami Island, is far from the city.
During my last visit in 2 years ago, I followed the tour agent and that's why I didn't realize it is such a long journey to travel from the city.
Lucky that the public transports in Korea are so smooth and convenient so that we can travel with hassle-free!
If you read my previous blog here, you would know how much I love Nami Island.
It's the first place that makes me fall in love with Korea, and I wish I could visit here in different seasons.
My first visit was during the snow winter, this time is in the fall season; and I think I should make one for summer season soon! #keepmyfingerscrossed
Although I visited Nami Island before, but I seen things with different views.
Nami Island looks much more beautiful and splendid during the fall season because of the yellow and red leaves from the trees.
It's so so romantic!
Another reason I like about Nami Island is because of the Korean drama, Winter Sonata.
Remember? I am a K-drama queen!?!
When you want to travel to Seoul, Nami Island always be the top of the list to visit.
And you wouldn't know how much wonderful it is until you see it with your own eyes.
For me, travel makes me feel much more awesome if I get to meet up my friends in the country.
I miss Gail so much ever since she left Malaysia.
Miss those times we do our Korean revision together. #hehe
I lost contact with Tommy for a long time, and lucky that we got to connect through FB again .
He is my first Korean friend since 17 years ago, while I was a little girl for him and he was a big brother for me!
And now, he is a big daddy of 2 daughters!
How can you leave out Oppa Maseong in Seoul?
He is a big brother who always give me a big hug when we met up.
A very funny guy who always share all things about Korea with me!
Kon is the brother of Maseong.
He is fashionable, oh yea he is a violinist in Korea.
He plays good violin and sing well, do check out his FB page here!
Well, I think that's all for this post.
I probably will do some separate posts especially those places that I never been during my first visit.
If you are keen to know any places and restaurants that I have been, do leave me your comments ya!
Meanwhile, I have a new travel vlog Hippo x Korea 2015 on my youtube channel, so yea watch it NOW!
I have been asked why I like Korea so much, and I am pretty sure all my pictures have explained everything. :)
