Hey! How's everyone weekend?

It’s been a busy week for me, and I’ve come to realize that December and January are always my busiest months of the year. 

In December, I usually take at least one week off to relax, but then it’s back to the whirlwind of Christmas celebrations with friends and family. After that, January kicks in, and work always picks up as we prepare for Chinese New Year. On top of that, I’m also celebrating my birthday this month, making it even more busy and eventful. And let’s not forget, Chinese New Year also falls in January, which adds to the excitement (and the stress).

So, between work, family gatherings, celebrations, and personal milestones, December and January always end up being a blur of activity.

Despite the craziness, I decided to take a short break to recharge and escape the hustle and bustle. 

Last weekend, I went on a staycation to Seremban, and it was just what I needed. 

The peaceful surroundings and a change of scenery were the perfect remedy after all the busy days. It was a refreshing little getaway that gave me the time to relax and reset before diving back into everything.

So today, let me share more about my short getaway in Seremban, especially the hotel I stayed at this time, Royale Chulan Seremban. 

It was a fantastic choice for a relaxing stay, with its comfortable amenities, great location, and welcoming atmosphere. 

It’s amazing how a short trip can do wonders for your energy and mindset. 

Now I feel more ready to tackle the rest of the month, with all its celebrations and responsibilities!

I'm back to continue my travel blog about my trip to Kaohsiung.

I last updated my travel post in Sept, thanks for staying with me. :)

So, some of you have asked why I choose Kaohsiung for this trip.

Well, one of the main reasons for my choice was to experience life in a smaller city and find relaxation, as big cities tend to feel somewhat stressful to me.

Additionally, I also found out that Kaohsiung is conveniently close to Tainan, just less than one-hour ride on a high-speed train, this allowed me to explore two places in one trip, which sounded like a great idea. #hehe

Besides, Kaohsiung is also Taiwan's second largest city, boasts a rich history as a port city, influenced by various foreign cultures such as the Dutch, Japanese and Chinese, which have a lasting impact on its culture and development over the years.

Since I got back from Chiang Mai in May, life has been super busy, filled with a flurry of activities, a multitude of tasks to do, and a busy schedule to meet, which explained why I haven't had the chance to write on my blog.

Anyway, even though this post is coming a bit late, I really wanted to write down all the special moments during the 4D3N adventure in Chiang Mai.

It's a trip that holds a special place in my heart, as I got to spend precious moments with my uni mates. 

I'm hoping that when we're all 60 years old, we can look back at this post and remember the amazing time we had together in 2023.

This trip was really excited because we all flew from different places; some of us from KL, some from Kuching, others from Hong Kong and Singapore. 

Our last big meetup was in 2018 when we went to Taipei, and because of the pandemic, we couldn't see each other for almost 5 years. 

Well, thinking back to 2018, when we last met in Taipei, we never thought it would be so long before we meet each other again.

Big thanks to our group leader, Stella Ling, and group assistant Yee Hong, for putting this whole trip together; from the beginning to the end, they've taken care of everything.

So, without further ado, let's get ready for this long post in Chiang Mai as I'll be covering all the interesting places, activities, restaurants and cafes we visited. :)

Greetings! Welcome back to my travel blog where I document my trip to Seoul back in Dec 2022.

As I previously mentioned, I'm excited to share the various types of food I had during my stay in the city.

It took me some time to prepare this food post, as the photos were taken randomly and the information was scattered, requiring me to do some research once I returned home.

As you may already know, I traveled with my best friends, Stella and Kay; it was an amazing trip to have them both with me on this trip, as they both are true food enthusiasts. 

Three of us made it a priority to try as many different types of food as possible and truly immerse ourselves in the city's culinary culture.

As I was going through the photos, I realized that we had tried numerous types of foods during our 10-day trip, which I think it's well worth documenting and sharing with you all. :)

I will split the food post into 2 parts, because this would allow me to give more details of the food we had, and also make it easier for you guys to navigate and digest the information.

Hello and Happy New Year!

Can't believe we are celebrating Chinese New Year in less than a month now.

We just finished celebrating the holiday season with Christmas and now we are excited to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

In case you not sure about the culture of Chinese New Year, we have one important tradition for the Spring Festival, which is the reunion dinner 年夜饭 that usually takes place on New Year's Eve.

It is a time for families, no matter how far the distance to travel, to come together and celebrate the festival by enjoying a meal together. 

Some of you may be considering preparing your own dishes at home and some of you maybe considering going out to a restaurant, which I believe both options can be a lot of fun.

转眼间, 2022来到了六月份, 时间过得还真快呢!

自从马来西亚开放了过后, 我每天的工作都忙得匆匆忙忙.

好想好想给自己放个长假, 可是工作实在放不下走不开.

希望下半年, 可以抽时间出外走走放松心情.

虽然说平常日工作忙, 很多消遣的活动都牺牲掉, 但唯一坚持住的就是还会在家做饭吃.

要是你们有追踪我的IG @mizhippo的话, 大概都知道这两年来, 因为疫情的关系, 宅家久了, 我这个完全不会下厨的竟然爱上了烹饪.

It's blessed that we can have CNY celebration with our families and friends this year where the past 2 years were affected by the pandemic badly.

Let me wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year and hope you all will have a lovely warm celebration with your loved ones, but do keep all celebrations and gatherings safe and take care. 

Looking back, can't believe that we've been living under the pandemic for 2 years...and these 2 years have taught us to appreciate the little things in life, do not take things for granted and everyone can help in their own little way. :)

I believe these 2 years are definitely not easy, especially to the underprivileged Malaysian, who have been struggling before the pandemic, and the past 2 years must have made things even more difficult for them.

Hey guys! How's everyone doing on this FMCO?

Hope you all staying safe and healthy. 

Remember to wear masks, practice social distancing, and frequently wash hands in an effort to protect yourself and your family. 

Well, government has just decided to extend the FMCO again, it's hard to imagine that we all have been staying home; physically distancing from others and adjusting to a new way of life, for an entire month. 

Other than grocery runs, I don't have anywhere to go, honestly I really miss the outside world. 

I understand it's hard to stay home from day to day, but if you've been on my IG @mizhippo, you probably know that I am using this stay-at-home period as an opportunity to enhance my cooking skill.

To be honest, I've never been good at cooking; I can't even make a plate of good fried rice #lol

So ever since FMCO extended, I'd been doing lots of home cooking.

It's a challenging task to prepare different types of dishes on the table at one time everyday, but honestly I enjoyed doing it. :)

I watch YouTube videos, FB videos and read recipes to get new ideas, and you know what...I just learnt two new dishes, using U.S. Potatoes, from consultant dietitian, Georgen Thye 郑仲杰, yesterday (27/6/2021 Sunday) on FB Live Talk at @My Potatoes USA.

I do not usually eat snacks, but if I do, I will always choose the healthy snacks that has healthful fat, a little protein, high fiber or maybe those baked snacks. 

Every since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, I had been stocking up different snacks while doing grocery shopping since I spent more time at home watching movies compared to before.

September was pretty good for me; works are keeping me so busy lately, which I hope good things are bound to happen soon since my business was completely standstill during the MCO periods.

Yes, today is another food post again after I finished one in the last month.

I'm going to blog about three different eating places under the same roof, tucked away in the Summit USJ shopping mall.

Back in January 2020, I had a short visit to the mall, and I remember that was quite a nice trip as I noticed some interesting eating places inside the mall which makes me decided to revisit again in last week.

Dumplings have become popular across the world.

More and more people are experimenting with new and exciting flavours, combining them together to create entirely unique dumplings that are innovative in both taste and texture.

I love dumplings, I can't deny that I'm also one of the dumpling fans. :)

Dumplings are easy to prepare, I usually prefer pan-fried dumplings, it's always a great and refreshing tailgate bites and finger foods to have at anytime.

Not to surprise, I can eat at least 10-15 dumplings just by myself. #lol
