HippoLand with Nuffnang~~~

How's the weekend for you?
Mine was pretty quiet as not much exciting activities going on.
Just stayed relax at home, watched Korean drama and do some cooking for Lik Boy.
My current Korean drama is "Personal taste" by Lee Min Ho and Son Yeh Jin.
I have been watching 3 different dramas since "The Heirs" from Lee Min Ho.
I guess dating with such a perfect man must be super ramantic! ♥♥♥

I am now at episode 6, 10 more episodes to go.
I believe I can easily finish all during the long CNY holiday coz my parents have no travelling plan in this year.
So, it should be a boring yet relaxing holiday in KL town!

********

Well, I just checked my Nuffnang page this afternoon and it surprised me the blog traffic!
It has been slightly INCREASED these days!
Thank you so much for reading me!!! Serious, it means lots for me!

I have joinned Nuffnang since Jan 2014, but never been so activated till last week after I added some ads that has been suggested into my site.
All this while, I knew Nuffnang is the site that helps to promote the blogs, and also gives opportunity to the bloggers to generate income through the blog ads.
And of coz through Nuffnang, I have also known many famous bloggers which give lots of inspiration in terms of the cosmetics, skin cares, food, and even the latest fashion.
I feel so thankful to have all these sharing~~~

I love blogging, or I should said I love writting?!
I started writting my diary since Standard 6, till I went to Sunway college.
I have my diary books according to different years, and I still have them all in my cupboard now.
During my uni time in Michigan, I started to update my diaries on website, which nowadays people named it as blogging.
Although I have been blogging since 10 years ago, I never promoted my blog to anyone I know.
Most of the people get to know about my blog through google, probably?!

There is one coincidence that my long lost secondary school mate msg me on MSN; we have not contacted each others since we left the school.
Kit: "Hey! You wasted my 1 hour!"
Me: "What"?!
Kit: "I have spent 1 hour to read your blog entries!
Me: "Oh. How did you find my blog"?
Kit: "I was actually looking for some reviews about the new Karaoke in KD, and accidently I found you blog about it!"
Indeed, I was very happy because my sharing and reviews have get people to read about "me".

And now, I feel even more grateful!

I checked my stats almost everyday, and today I have seen some improvement~~~

From today's stat~~~~

From this week's stat~~~

From last month's stat~~~

I know this is not something to be proud of compared to the other famous bloggers, but this is really something mean to me that somebody is actually reading me.
And, it is gonna be a big encouragement and motivation for me to write and share more on my blog!
It is always difficult for bloggers to keep the writing passion if the blog has no readers, it makes you feel like a freak talking with no one.
Plus, it is not easy to upload 1 good blog entry with the beautiful words and pictures, ya you need to rephrase it again and again, edit the pictures before it goes to public.
This all need times and effort to do it.

Thank you!
Thanks for those people who started notice and read me!
Thanks for dropping by even just for 1 post!
I deeply appreciate your time!
I will keep up my work in the brand new year to make sure the blog is always alive!

Love "Dropping Rain" the most!

34s

Saturday with LoVes

Gonna take a break from my Korea diary for this post.
Too much of Korea pictures and writings might lose your interest to read my blog, maybe?!
Anyway, this week is a good week because we only work 3 days in a week!
YEA! Tomorrow is another holiday!!!

As you can read from the top title, I had a lovely Saturday with 2 friends I love.
I always enjoy friends gathering especially when my 30s started.
That's because gathering is getting less and less after all friends have their marriage life with their hubby and kids.No one actually is free to spend time with you especially during weekend.
And that's why I appreciate each gatherings that have been arranged ^^

********

Since Kay from Kuching was here the whole weekend, we decided to spent time together as much as possible before she goes back to hometown for CNY.
So we hanged out during the weekend, and had a really memorable and fun day together!

3 of us decided to have Korean food after talking about my Korea trip, and so we came across this Street Cafe, the Best Korean Street Food through my roommate.
It is a Halal Korea cafe which located @ Subang Jaya, right opposite the Inti College.
It's also my first time stepping into a Halal Korean restaurant as not many Korean restaurants in KL serve without any pork.

We were served in a dining area with tatami style.

It's a very nice cafe with variety of Korean food.
Roommate said the boss and chef from this cafe are Korean Malaysian.

Here's the food menu

And the drink menu

Our selca time!
Kay and Roommate are my best friends from my Uni time.
We stayed under the same roof while studying in Michigan, USA.
I have been calling Kay as Kay mummy as she always taking good care of me while we were far away from home.
And I started to call Wan as roommate ever since we shared the same room for 3 years.
I think this name will never fad away eventhough we have came back to Malaysia 10 years ago.

Lunch served finally!
Kay ordered the Korean Noodle Ja Jang (RM12.90)
I ordered Bulgogi Spicy Oktopus (RM16.90)
The 3rd one is for sharing, Buchimgae mix with kimchi, beef, octopus, and shrimp (RM15.90)
The last one is from roommate, she ordered Bulgogi beef (RM16.90)
*Sorry for the last unclear picture, guess I just can't wait to start my lunch!

This corner next to the toilets provides UNO cards, plasying cards, chess games to customers.
I guess that might because most customers are college students from Inti or KDU students?

And I put on myself a special birthday spec as my birthday is coming soon!
It's on 19th Jan, the coming week!
I actually pretty like the wall behind me, it painted with notes written by customers.

I highly recommend this cafe to Muslim friends who love Korean food like me!

The interior inside cafe, this is taken at the downstair.

Nice Kpop posters hanging on the staircase when you go up to the second floor.

The interior at the second floor.

I like it, and hope you do like it as well ya :D

We need coffee badly after the heavy lunch!
So we decided to have a short break nearby the Korean cafe.
Found this Brooklyn B Bagel Bakery & Cafe

We ordered what we love, and just chill there with some magazines, and girl talks.

We were only the customers when we visited the cafe.
So, it was pretty quiet till the cafe is full of our super loud laughs and voices!

The interesting part of this cafe is they sell different flavor of bagels.
From plain bagel, to different flavors like chocalate, blueberry, whole weat, apple cinnamon and so on..Too many choices!
Unfortunately, we didn't try the bagels since we were still very full after the heavy lunch.

After the coffee time, we went for some shopping because we want to get special wedding gifts for our Korean friend, MaSeong.
We spent too much time of choosing the right gift to our lovely friend.
And at the end, we decided to get him a pair of Songket (batik fabric) for him and his wife, also a handmade wind chime for his new house warming ♥♥♥

After the shopping, we had good dinner at The Grafa.
Again, this is introduced by roommate!

Say hi to my roommate~~~

And a photo with my lovely Kay~~~

My phone ran out of batt in the evening, so have no choice to use Kay's phone to capture the nice moment of us.
Ya! That's why some colour differences with the top ones.

3 od us were not so hungry, so we only ordered a sandwich and a lamb chop for sharing.
The food were pretty yummy and in big portion.
I will definately come again to try out their other selection.

Day 2: Jeju Island, Korea

Here comes my DAY 2 in Korea!
I have to update fast when all the memories are still fresh in mind!
Too many things to remember, and too many good things to share about Korea!

Come! Let's go with us to Jeju Island now!

********

We stayed at the Jeju Hawaii Hotel for 2 nights.
I didn't take any pictures during my stayed because it was just a simple hotel with nothing special about the interiors and decorations.
Only one strange thing is the hotel didn't provide any bath towel, but only face towel.
Luckily our tour leader from Malaysia has already advised us to bring our own towel, if not I seriously have no idea where to get one during my stay.

This hotel offered variety of breakfast choices, and mostly in Korean style.
That's what I always love the most!
Eat, play and experience different things while you are at other' s countries.

Look at their tomatoes, So damn big and fresh!
And it taste very sweet too!

Right after the heavy buffet breakfast, we started our super long day in Jeju Island.
First, we have a short stopped at a Mandarin Orange Village.
Jeju is famous with mandarin oranges, so I bought a bottle of vitamin C which made of mandarin orange.
My Korean friend told me this vitamin is famous and it is good to supply everyday too.

It was not a good day in Jeju Island.
It rained a lot in the morning when we arrived at Seongsan Ilchulbong Sunrise Peak.
I hate rain when I'm travelling, actually who does love rain during the trips?!?

Seongsan Ilchulbong Sunrise Peak actually a beautiful place where to enjoy scenic views and spectacular natiral surroundings of one of 360 parasitic volcanoes, the worlds biggest crater at seacoast.
Unfortunately, raining day is definately not a good weather to visit!

Look at me with the raincoat!
The rain was too heavy till you have no choice to either bring an umbrella or wear a raincoat!

It was a shame that we can't enjoy such beautiful scenery and take nice pictures with it!!!
Everywhere is so WET!

In Jeju Island, woman work harder than man, they are also the main income earners in the family.
Most of them in the island works as HaenYeo which refers to the women free-divers.
What do they do? Just like the picture above.
These women dive in the ocean without any special tools to gather clams, abalone, or seaweed. And they don’t go as fully equipped as scuba divers like the fishermen who go out in boats or use a rod or line.
Quite a strong characteristic woman though!

We still can find some HaenYeo staying at Seongsan Ilchulbong Sunrise Peak.
See all the houses with red roof nearby the seaside. That's where they stay!

We didnt's stay up too long over there as heavy rain was nonstop!
I hope I can come back again if I have the chance to travel to jeju Island next time!

********

Finally, rain stopped at our next spot, Seongeup Folk Village

Throughout here, we get the opportunity to see the Korean traditional folk custom material and also met up the island people who still live behind stone courtyard walls in thatched roof rock homes.

This is the Stables inside the village

The big stone behind me is where they used to keep the black-haired pigs and tongsi (pigsty/restroom). This is quite a well-known characteristic of Jeju folk culture.

The Seongeup Folk Village shows the unique culture of Jeju Island.

It is quite an interesting place to visit which I strongly advise you not to miss out if you travel to Jeju!

Lunch time!
We had the famous Jeju black pork which said to be very nutritious.
One of the reason I enjoy Korean food is they always comes with spicy and hot soup!
It's good to eat with spicy and hot soup at such a cold weather, to keep your body warm.

A photo of my mum and sister at the dining place!

********

After the yummylicious lunch, we visited 3 different musuems!
First, came to the Trick Art Musuem, also known as 3D Art Musuem!
I have long waited to visit this museum since I saw my friends posted their Korea trip pictures on FB. And now, I am finally here to see and take pictures by myself!

This exhibition consists of seven themed sections: Parody Zone, Animal Zone, Jurassic Zone, Aquarium Zone, Egypt Zone, Magic Zone, and Illusion Zone.
We only have 40 minutes to go around, so it's for sure that I couldn't catch every single paintings!
Actually we missed out quite a lot of paintings! Obviously, 40 minutes is definately not enough!

The Parody Zone
Throughout this zone, there are many famous paintings and sculptures.

"Mona Lisa, no smoking please!"

"A nicely frame picture with my little niece, Ashley"

"Hey! You are too heavy! Time to diet please!"

The Animal Zone
With all kind of animals and we can have various poses blending nicely with the paintings.

"Little hippo under the Big hippo"

The Jurassic Zone
All the huge animals here look fierce, aggresive, and angry!

"Ah...Please don't eat me"!

"Oh No! Please let me go!"

The Aquarium Zone
Nice and peaceful area with different sea animals!

"Hello big shark, open your mouth now"!

"Let is flow, let is flow!"

The Egypt Zone
My favourite zone with different Egypt paintings!

"Stop acting cool!"

"Hey, What's up dude!?"

Fu-Yoh!"

The Magic Zone
Here you can play around with the different illusions on your camera!

"You see me, I see you! Yes..we are true sisters"!

"Welcome to the Trick Art Museum!"

"I am a little Angel"

"Hey Kristie, run fast!"

The Illusion Zone
The most fun zone with very interesting illusion!

"What's up there!"

"Hang on there! Don't fall down!"

That's all for my favourite musuem!
A wonderful musuem that you shouldn't miss out during your Jeju trip!

********

All the 3 musuems stay pretty close with each others.
It was only less than 10 mins drive then we arrived at Jeju Glass Castle

Beautiful glass wall with my beautiful mum :P

Yes. I Do!

I am glad that my life is full of LOVE with all my family and friends!

Amazing piece with different musicians. They are all made by glass!

Happy mum with her 2 daughters at the glass castle!

It was really cold out there!

Big Bear, please hug and protect me well from the cold weather!

OPPSSS.....

Some randomly interesting glass works inside the big castle.

With mum and sis again!

If you are travelling by your own to Jeju Island, I would suggest you to skip this exhibition unless you are a glass fans. If not, I don't find it so interesting.
There are actually more other museums to visit such as LoveLand.

Last visit of the day in Jeju Island! The Teddy Bear Museum
One of the must visit musuem in Korea!

You will immediately turn like a kid once you enter to this teddy bear word!
And I am sure you will feel very impress with lotsa teddy bears collection with different costumes and styles!

Hello, big teddy bear with Tarzan outfit!

These 2 pictures were taken at the Safari Zone with my 2 cute nieces!

Welcome to the Under Sea world with teddy bears!

Mermaid teddy bear! "Kinda creative"

I met myself, Hippo inside the musuem! Haha!

I am just like my nieces! Full of happiness and excitement when meet up with all kind of bears!

Of coz a YES for you, my dear!

Hippo Hippo with Bear Bear

I am one of the cute bears family!

All the teddy bears behind me wear different costumes according to the countries they come from!

Bye, Teddy bear! I will miss you max!

********

We ended the whole day trip at about 6pm.

Here comes the dinner right after all the visits!
Yes, we do deserve a good dinner after the super exhausted day!
We had Godeumuea Jolim, a kind of fish from there.
Again, my favourite spicy soup served on the dinner! LIKE IT!

I think my smile on some pictures turned to very stiff after facing too much of camera!
Anyway, it was a good and well experienced day in Jeju Island.
We will fly back to Seoul again tomorrow morning at flight 7.10am!
So, guess what time we have to get up the next day?!?
Arghhh!!
