Premium Tualang Honey @ Wesley's Wild Honey

Do you know that honey is a natural sweetener with amazing benefits?
It helps to reduce cough, throat irritation, anti-bacterial, prevent cancer, reduce ulcer and even give you a beautiful skin.
However, it is not easy to know if the honey is pure even though the label guarantees it; that's why my mum always get the Manuka honey from Australia.
I am so thankful to know about the Wesley's Wild Honey which located at Damansara Utama, and I guess my mum will be the first one who said YEA! #lollollol

The owner, Wesley decided to use his own name on the shop to create an uniqueness of his brand.
The reason he started this business is to emphasize "All-natural healthy lifestyle".

Wesley’s Wild Honey’s main concept is to introduce the 100% natural and unprocessed Premium Tualang wild honey, which is the most ferocious and the largest bee species in the world.
It is harvested by Asian giant rock bees in Peninsula Malaysia.

To ensure the honey still contains it's original of bee pollen granules, bee propolis, vitamins, minerals and enzymes, they do not go through any preheat process (unprocessed) during the production like the other honeys in the market.
The team has also conducted various studies to prove that genuine wild honey has the probiotic bacteria such as acidophilus.

It is important if you purchase the right quality of honey without the contents of artificial sweeteners, antibiotics and pesticides because no-pure honey will cause damages of health.
Hence, all Wesley’s honeys will be tested by SGS consolidated laboratories for bacterial, viral and food safety to certify their quality standard.

A simple experiment from the Wesley's team in order to determine the pureness of the honey.
The first photo without the sparkling bubbles is from "brand A", while the second photo which shows the sparkling bubbles is from Wesley's Wild Honey.
They indicated that the unprocessed pure honey should contain bubbles shown on the second photo after you mix certain amount of honey to the water.

The Tualang wild honey prices range are from RM100 - RM350, it depends the weight and type of quality you want to purchase.
The honeys are not only available at the gallery, you can also get from their major dealers in Malaysia such as DSY Wellness and Longevity CenterGood Life Good Choice, and Breadfruits

The original place was set up as a honey gallery, but due to the spacious space, the owner decided to add in a café concept just to fill up the space.
It creates a new idea with two concepts; aside from selling honey products, they also offer various healthy desserts and beverages which goes well with their premium Tualang Honey.

Signature Waffle with wild honey @ RM15.80, which drizzling their in-house honey on top of 4 pieces of waffle, 4 types of fruit, and a scoop of ice-cream.

Crispy French Toast @ RM10.80, is their in house specialty toast because they dip in their own honey which very well soften the toasts.

Not only that, the cafe also servers 100% cold pressed juiced with premium Tualang honey.
The price of the fresh juices range from RM10 - RM15 depends which fruits you mix together.

What catch my attention during my first time visit was their unique products of herb-infused Tualang Honey, rare tropical forest treasure such as Tongkat Ali and Tiger's Milk Mushroom
All these special ingredients are for the purpose of health.

It's worth-while to pay a visit to Wesley's Wild Honey because apart of knowing honey, you can also enjoy their "honey" desserts and beverages.
I am sure that whoever visit this gallery/cafe will gain certain knowledge on honey in return.

Let's Ice-Skate @ Icescape IOI City Mall

My Korean friend always asked me if we have any special activities in KL.
It's really difficult for me to think one since Malaysia has a tropical climate all year round, therefore we prefer to stay indoor with air conditional to avoid the sticky and warm feeling.
"So what are you guys doing for the weekend"?
"Cafe hopping, movies, go to the malls", I think these are the common activities we have during our weekend.
"Awww, that's a bit boring!" That's how she reacted every time I answered her. #lol
If you encounter the same situation as mine, no idea where to go, not sure how to spent your weekend, then let's do ice-skating at Icescape!

Icescape located at first floor of IOI City Mall.
It's the foremost and only Olympic sized Ice-Skating Rink in Malaysia.
The ice surface area is 1,800m2 (30m width x 60m length), surrounded with a breath taking glass view.
It also recognized by Malaysia Book of Record as the "Biggest Ice Rink in Malaysia".

Icescape not only provides simple ice-skating for kids and adults, but also other activities like ice hockey, short track speed skating and figure skating.
It is also an ideally perfect place to host premier performances and competitions too.

The general admission fee is RM25 during weekday, and RM35 for the weekend, school and public holiday.
All these fees include regular skate rentals.

For those visitors like parents who are not interested to ice-skate, you can sit and watch at the waiting area for your kids by just paying extra RM5 per person.
There is a big and comfortable space with the wood benches around the public waiting area.

After tickets have purchased, you then proceed to choose the right size for your skate.

In order to get the right size, you have to measure your foot according to their measurement board.
My shoe size is always size 7, and I got my skate size at size 8, slightly bigger huh.
Make sure your skates are not too tight or too loose as this may make your feet go numb or not enough support for your ankles

For ice-skating, you should wear clothes that are loose and comfortable so that you will be free and easy to move around at the ice rink.
Make sure you bring your own socks and gloves when you want to ice-skate; otherwise, there will be an extra charges for the socks at RM6 and gloves at RM10.
It is compulsory to wear the socks, or else you feet will be injured by the ice-skates.
For the gloves, I would say it depends on you; the reason to wear the gloves is not really to keep you warm, but to protect your hands from being cut by the blades if you fall down.

For the kids, you can rent the Penguin Skating Aid at RM30/hour.
This will help them to practice their skating skills as well as get the correct skating postures.

There are total 186 lockers are available, so make sure you keep all your valuable things include your shoes inside the locker by just paying RM2 of each locker.
Choose your lucky numbers, drop the tokens, lock them all inside, that's it!!

Always start up some basic warm-ups before any workouts or sports!
We are lucky to have the professional coaches to guide us the warm-ups as well as the useful ice-skating tips to get us started.

Ready to get your skates on?! #jom

If you are stepping our for the first time, you can stick on the wall to get your balancing.
It is important to work on your balancing to avoid falls while you skate.
Once you feel comfortable, you can slowly start to glide from one side to another side.

In fact, my first time on ice was at Sunway Pyramid during my college years; but I do not have the right introduction and proper skills and knowledge about it.
I believe it would be much more fun and safe if you have a professional to guide you the right way at the beginning.
There are few types of lesson that are available at Icescape:
#1 Walk-in per student (30 min lesson) RM65 (weekday coach) RM70 (weekend coach), and RM90 (head coach)
#2 Private 1 to 1 (5 classes x 30 mins per class) RM290 (weekday coach) RM320 (weekend coach), and RM380 (head coach)
# 3 Semi-private 2-3 students (5 classes x 30 mins per class) RM210 (weekday coach) RM230 (weekend coach), and RM300 (head coach).
#4 Group with more than 4 students (5 classes x 30 mins per class) RM160 (weekday coach) RM180 (weekend coach), and RM210 (head coach).
All prices above are excluded one time registration fee at RM30.

All coaches are very patient and experienced.
I believe if I have a coach when I first started my ice-skating, I will improve much more quickly. #lol
Keep your knees bent, and your weight forward.
Hold your arms out in front of you and open them wide to help you stay balance.
Then continue the practice; glide to the left, and glide to the right.

Simple bend your knees, and push and point your blades out which will slowly bring you to a stop.
It isn't so difficult after all!

Well, I really wish I can skate more fluency without fear of falling.
Look how much fun we had on the ice-rink!

Eddy was so nervous and afraid of falling through the entire journey. #haha
Hey, no worries! Practice makes perfect!

Can you see the crowd behind me with the bigger ice rink?
After a few round of the basic practicing, I was so proud and excited that I was able to step out from the comfort and safety zone to the bigger ice rink and join the fun! #thisissogreat

Oh yup! There are 3 different time frames for their ice resurfacing which are scheduled daily at 230pm, 4pm, and 730pm.
Each section will last for at least 1/2 hour, so, you may try to avoid these times when you purchase the tickets.

Thanks to everyone from the Icescape, IOI City Mall for making this fun and memorable experience.
I really did enjoy myself with this unique sport in KL! #happinessoverloaded

Thanks to Mr. Phua, the Ice Rink Manager, for his times and effort on coaching us.
Mr. Phua has more than 16 years of skating experience who was trained by the Olympic coach, Matthew Smith in Los Angeles, USA.
He has been performed in more than 40 cities including USA, Canada, Japan, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
He is also the first and only Malaysian who have performed at the world's largest ice show "Disney On Ice"! #thankyou

Hey guys!
Instead of spending your time on the couch watching TV or do your window shopping, let's find some place or some special activity that might help you relax!

Eat with me @ Kuching Sarawak / Part 3

Here's the final post of my "Eat with me @ Kuching Sarawak".
If you are interested to read my part 1 and part 2, you can click here (part 1) and here (part 2) to get you there!
This is a super long overdue post; I know! I know you guys have been waiting since Sept. #sorryguys
Anyway, I still hope you will enjoy the last part with the most exciting food recommendations in Kuching!

There are so many old-school coffee shops in Kuching selling the similar food.
But to get the best one so far after my few trips there, I think Choon Hui cafe has the most variety nice food for your appetite!
Choon Hui located at Jalan Ban Hock; a place with limited parking spaces and it is usually crowded especially during the breakfast hours.

Sarawak Laksa is the most famous food in Kuching.
It has a unique taste of sambal belacan, with it's special herbs and spices.
A bowl like this always comes with mee hoon, 2 pieces of prawns, shredded chicken, beansprouts, thin strips of omelette, and coriander.
I have had the same laksa at different cafes in Kuching, yet me and my local friends agreed that Choon Hui Cafe has the best one.
It costs just RM4-RM5 for a bowl like this!
Do not forget to squeeze the lime that they prepare for you with their own-made chili paste!

Kolo Mee is another must eat in Kuching.
But if you want to have the best one in Kuching, then you should stay with me till the last food destination, because that's the place that I like the most. #hehe
Anyway, a bowl like this at Choon Hui Cafe costs just RM3.80. #worthdie

Other than all the main courses, you can also have their famous snacks such as Roti Kiap @ RM1.80.
It is a crispy toasted white bread and spreaded with butter and kaya, more like our Roti Bakar in KL.
You can also dip the bread with an extra half-boiled egg which is freshly made upon your order

Popiah @ RM3.00 comes with the filling of shredded bangkuang, carrots and a bit of minced meat.
It's a very well done Popiah because of it's soft-soft skin.

Do not miss out the cold Teh-C-Peng, that available at most places in Kuching.
The taste is so much richer in flavour, and you sure will taste the different compare to the one you have in KL!

I blogged about one of the must go destination in Kuching, Sarawak Cultural Village here.
Lim Hock Ann Seafood restaurant is the place where we had our lunch after the sight-seeing.
It is about 40 minutes drive from Kuching city, and about 10 minutes drive from the cultural village.

It is an open air restaurant, which served Chinese-style halal seafood here.
There are so many good food from the menu, so we just let the locals to make the decision for us. #hehe

Oyster Omelette/Pancake, which again tasted so much different than in KL.
The omelette was more like eating crackers as the skin is made too crispy.
When I did the research about this seafood restaurant, everyone would order it and gave a thumbs up for it!

Oh! Bilin is my most favourite, also the famous wild vegetable that you must have in Kuching.
It is only available in Kuching as it cannot be kept too long whereby it has to buy and cook on the same day.
They usually cook with sambal balacan, wine or just fried with garlic.

Deep Fried Squid, is the fastest dish that ran out once it served on our table. #lol
It is tender, chewy, crispy till everyone couldn't resist it!

This is the Stir Fried Mani Cai With Egg; some people may call it as sweet potato leaves.
I personally like this cooking style as it made the mani cai more tasty and refreshing!

Words can't describe how much I love this Butter Prawn, it's a real bomb at this restaurant!
The little bits in the prawns are definitely stimulate your appetite!
I almost aet the whole bowl of rice just with these little bits! #fatdiedie

Kueh Chap is one of the famous delicacy in Kuching.
I used to not like Kueh Chap when I first visited Kuching, probably I didn't get a good one that time.
I am glad that I found the Bintawa Kueh Chap, which near to Tabuan Jaya during my trip this time.

If this is your first time knowing about Kuey Chap, don't mess it up with Bak Kut Teh.
It is totally different 2 dishes although they both are cooked in dark soup.
Kuey Chap is a kind of Teochew dish which the "noodle" looks something similar like Kueh Tiaw, but in a bigger and flatter piece.
Their soup is the one that I love the most, because it has a kind of herb taste.

It serves with mixture of pork meats, bean curds, hard-boiled eggs, pork bellies, and chitterlings.
We skipped the pig offal as my parents they don't really appreciate it.

Their Pig Trotter in Vinegar and Ginger Stew @ RM8 is worth for a try, and the sour taste is kinda good to mix with the simple Kueh Chap.

Last but not least, here's the best Kolo Mee in Kuching, Sin Lian Shin from my list
My local friends usually do not prefer to come here, because it always have to wait more than 30 minutes.
During my visit on Sunday, I think we waited for about 45 minutes till 1 hour!

Kuching Kolo Mee not only looks different with the KL one, but also the taste is totally different.
Kolo Mee in KL are all made with soy sauce, whereby Kuching Kolo Mee is either made in red sauce or just plain in colour.
Ever since I had my first kolo mee, I will never stop myself eating it every time I come for a visit.
The noodle always comes with sliced roasted pork and minced pork on it.
There are 2 types of kolo mee; this is the red one with roasted pork sauce, also my all-time favourite.

You can also request the plain one, which is less salty and sweet than the red one.

If you do not like the curly noodle, you may try their Mee Pok.
It is slightly thicker in width but cooked with the same tasty and delicious as the thin curly noodles.

Do not forget to add the Kiaw (dumplings soup) to your order.
I could have eaten the whole bowl by myself.
It is like the dumplings soup we have in KL, but this dumpling skin are as thin as a piece of paper and the filling is certainly delicious!

That's all I have in my disc about the food in Kuching.
I hope this post is helpful for you to get the right and delicious food during your trip in Kuching.
Once again! Thanks to my besties, Kay and Stella for all their times and effort to bring us to good food.
