Whether they are used to the gym, for running, exercise, traveling, hiking, or to complete your casual outfits, shoes are an essential part of life.
I love to buy shoes, and seriously I've lost count of how many pairs of shoes I've bought over the years.
Whenever my mum opened my shoe closet, my mum's nag session would begin. #lol
I think we all know that a proper pair of shoes are super important, especially for running and hiking.
Without a good one, you'll risk injury, discomfort and pain; while if you got the right ones, it can make you feel like you're flying high.
Till recently, I came across Teva, a brand from the USA, that born out of necessity to prevent sandals from floating downstream, a resourceful river guide strapped two Velcro watch-brands to a pair of old flip-flips.
A little bit background about Teva if you never heard of the brand before.
Teva stands for freedom in footwear.
It was born in the Grand Canyon since 1984.
The brand believes that how you choose to live is the ultimate form of personal expression and their products are crafted to be accessible, versatile and a celebration of the independent spirit.
Creator of the original sport sandal over three decades ago, and now Teva products are sold in over 40 countries worldwide.
In Spring 2019, Teva unveiled its Spring 2019 footwear collection, GC100 paying homage to the brand's birthplace, the Grand Canyon on the Grand Canyon National Park's founding 100 years ago.
Coined "GC100", the collection sports a mix of functional features and heritage details, tied together with canyon-inspired webbing that evokes the vibrant aesthetic and earth tone hues of the perk.
In support of the GC100 collection and partnership with the Conservancy, Teva will be celebrating all year with the "Born in the Canyon" brand campaign designed to share the inspiration and awe of this world wonder with a wider audience.
Teva will unveil a short video series titled "Faces of the Canyon" highlighting individuals who has profound connections to the Canyon and their stories.
Additionally, Teva will host a global contest where Malaysian consumers can enter to win a river trip in the Grand Canyon.
General Manager of Prestige Sports Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor for Teva in Malaysia, Norita Mohd Noor: "We are thrilled to support the launch of "Born in the Canyon" campaign to celebrate a monumental milestone for The Grand Canyon National Park, and accelerate Teva's commitment to the preservation of outdoor treasures. Providing a positive contribution to the world in which we play is at the core of everything Teva stands for.
With its colours, textures and sweeping views, the Grand Canyon serves as an inspiration for GC100 sandals and we are excited to bring this collection to outdoor enthusiasts & fashionistas in Malaysia."
Besides, Teva is also honouring its commitment to fostering more adventure in the outdoors by inspiring the next generation of modern explorers.
By doing so, a portion of the $100k donation will go to the Conservancy's Grand Canyon Field School, providing scholarships for undeserved youth.
The program provides kids with immersive educational experiences throughout Grand Canyon National Park.
The remainder of the donation will be used to fund the restoration of one of the most popular entries to the canyon, Bright Angel Tail.
In addition to renovating parts of the trail that need it most, this will help ensure continued access for visitors to explore the canyon for the next hundred years and beyond.
The GC100 collection is rich with heritage-inspired updates and features five unique styles in Men's, Women's and Kid's featuring an intricate webbing pattern that takes cues from the canyon's layered red rocks, meandering rivers and spectrum of sunset hues.
Spanning updated iterations on classic sandals like the Huricane XLT2, Original Sandal and Original
Universal as well as the introduction of new silhouettes like the Hurricane XLT2 Alp and the Hurricane Sock, the Spring 2019 collection fuses innovation with inspired design for a fresh twist on modern outdoor footwear.
Hurricane XLT2 women and men @ RM299, toddlers, youth, and kids @ RM199 gave the iconic Hurricane XLT a fresh comfort upgrade, outfitting it with soft heel-strap padding and a new, modern sole featuring even better traction than before.
Hurricane Sock @ RM679 evolves socks and sandals as one.
It combines a breathable knit upper engineered for a sock-like fit with jacquard heel webbing and easy hook-and-loop closures.
Grounded with a stability-minded nylon shank, this fresh hybrid features rugged Durabrasion rubber soles.
Teva's sandals for men and women are available in variety designs and colours, and each of them also gives an icon of freedom, comfort and utilitarian style.
Teva kid's series come in a variety of exciting styles to tide them through their initial years.
Apparently, Teva has two pop-up stores at One Utama Shopping Centre, and Sunway Velocity Mall and also a retail store at Mid Valley Megamall.
In addition, it is also available at selected authorized stores nationwide.
