Summit USJ Shopping Mall @ The Rational of the Chinese New Year Decor 2020

Chinese New Year is around the corner.
Have you started on your home decorations yet?
While I was doing my CNY shopping for festive foods and new clothing, there are so many shopping malls are all decked up in stunning CNY decos and festive music to spread the joys of the celebration for the Year of the Rat.
Those impressive mall decors are not only nice for taking lovely photos, but also gives everyone a festive and lively atmosphere for CNY good vibes.
The decos at most of the malls are really putting a lot of efforts and investment in it, some really creative and impressive.
Just like the one, Summit USJ Shopping Mall that I visited in few days ago, they completing the setup with recycled cardboard-made of adornments, such as Chinese calendar, rats, lion dances, fortune cats etc to welcome the beautiful spring festive.

A red traditional lunar calendar stands as the center piece of  Summit USJ Shopping Mall's CNY decor.
Well, anyone of you still remember those days in the past, each household will hang a copy of traditional calendar on the wall, and normally the first thing to do in every morning was to tear away a page of the calendar.
However, nowadays many of us don't use lunar calendars anymore, but so used to relying on hand-phone and gadgets to check our calendar.
The days of counting the calendar pages have become just a memory of the past.

In order to have a reminiscence of the warm and interesting life style of the past, Summit USJ has decided to use the concept of traditional Chinese calendar as an idea to present a memorable and meaningful time spent from day to day to usher in the year of Rats.
These big lunar calendars are made by recycled hard cardboard with unique designs and precise cuts.

The backdrop makes it great for visitors to take photos with their loves ones.

All these decor displays are made out of paper cardboard, and they are set up around the shopping mall together with red lanterns and cherry blossoms.
Aren't they creative yet cute?! :)

Besides, for the past 6 months, Summit USJ has been working together with Cardboard County to gather 1,500 over pieces of cardboards to build a cardboard mock up of new village consisting of 600 cardboard houses.
All these houses are decorated with Chinese New Year accessories to usher in the celebration.

In order to complete this project, Summit USJ also gained the support of students from the Klang Valley, such as SJK (C) Chee Wen, SJK (C) Jinjang Utara, and SJK (C) Imbi to make the handcraft cardboard houses from stretch.
This project also aims to make the student realize that cardboard material can be recycle and made into many useful things in their daily life.

To make this project more meaningful, Summit USJ decided to take one step further to help each cardboard house look for a house owner.
For a donation of RM50, shoppers are encouraged to select a type of cardboard house design and adopt it.
All donation will be distributed to five different beneficial parties; for instance #1 Pertubuhan Kebajikan USJ Subang Jaya, #2 Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Kurang Upaya Subang Jaya (P3KU), #3 SJK (C) Chee Wen USJ, #4 SJK (C) Jinjang Utara, and #5 SJK (C) Imbi.
With this Chinese New Year on the horizon, let us not forget the less fortunate, and make your CNY more meaningful this year!

I was truly amazed at the mall's CNY theme for 2020, with their creatively handmade of cardboard decors and the unique prosperity basket that full of prosperity and good fortune.
