Today I'm excited to come back with a new skincare review, which is the latest product from Murad.

Yeap! It's Murad again! One of the top 5 favourite skincare brands from my list.

I've been using Murad since 2017, and to be honest I really enjoy using their products.

For today's topic, let's talk about the solutions for dark spots, acne-scars, pigmentation etc and also how to preserve your youthful and glowing complexion. :)

Well, first of all, do you know that there are few factors that can increase someone's chances of developing dark spots, dark marks, pigmentation and so on?
That could be UV explore, pregnancy (melasma/cholasma), skin conditions like acne, trauma or injury to the skin, like post-acne scarring, and medications that are known to cause pigmentation.

Packaging

The product features a compact, light and simple design.

First, it comes with a pump dispenser, makes it mush easier to use, where I can easily control the amount of product dispensed, without wasting or overdoing the content.

Second, the bottle comes with a transparent cap for extra protection, and also minimize air exposure and most of all stay hygienic.

Texture & Scent

The serum is clear with a slight orange tint.

It is packed with gel-like texture; very light and without the weight.

Also, its fluid consistency allows the content to penetrate the skin quickly and easily; everytime when I applied the serum, it sinks to my skin very well in just seconds, where I'm able to layer other serums or moisturizers on after it.

As for the scent, it has a light citrusy smell, and also a little bit of that unpleasant medicinal scent, but don't worry that it's not overwhelming to make you feel uncomfortable.

How to Use?

Use the Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum for day and night.

After cleansing, apply 1-2 pumps evenly over face, neck and chest.

For my face, 2 pumps are more than enough to cover my entire face.

For day time use, I will apply Murad City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA ++++ Suncreen for additional protection, and for night time, I will pair the serum with the night moisturizer.

It's a 100% mineral sunscreen which features an advanced Environmental Protection Technology shields skin from 5 main causes of damage that accelerate signs of aging: UVA, UVB, Pollution, Blue Light from devices and infrared radiation.

It contains polymer matric to slow down the penetration of toxins from the environment, and also Vitamin C helps brighten skin, colour correcting tint evens tone and boosts radiance.

Ever since I started using this sunscreen, it become one of my top favourite; the texture is super light, absorbs quickly without any white residue but leave the skin luminous, pearlized finishing on the skin, and it comes with no fragrance, no chemical which is safe for sensitive skin use.

My Experience

When I started using this dark spot serum, I paid attention to my skin reaction to see if my skin has any adverse reaction for the first few days since it is made with Glycolic acid which I had a little bit concern on the sensitivity, and also afraid that I was going to get a reaction of redness from the serum.

Glad that the serum works totally fine on my skin.

Though it has a light sensation and causing some parts of my skin to tingle on the first few days, but that unpleasant feeling gone away slowly day by day.

I guess the mixture inside the product have some promising effects towards my skin to enhance the skin's appearance. :)

On the other hand, the serum is also very easy to apply, glides on well, not heavy, do not have any sticky feeling, and absorbed to the skin very quickly.

After using the product for 2 weeks, here's the before and after pictures I took on my barefaced; it's not easy to get the same lighting and angle, yet these are the pictures without any filters.

I'm so surprise to see my uneven skin tone has been restored, my overall complexion has brighten up, and obviously skin hyperpigmentation has improved; good that I can wear less makeup for the coverage now. :)

And if you looked at the second pictures, some of my dark marks under my chin area is somehow lighten and faded away. :)

Though they haven't been completely erased, but I can see they are much less noticeable.

After using the serum for 2 week times, I'm very happy and satisfied with the changes to my skin, and for sure I will continue to use it to have a better result and skin appearance.
