Senya Izakaya @ Publika

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the wonderful papa in the world!
I wish you all had a good time with your family during the last weekend!
Me and my family had a simple celebration on last Sunday by treating our papa a great Japanese food dinner.
Credit goes to my sister who recommended such authentic Japanese restaurant for us. #greatjob

You can easily catch the Senya Izakaya restaurant outside the Publika because of it's eye-catching designs with all the Japanese banners and posters.

They not only sticking the menu poster in front of their restaurant, but also a menu booklet available so that people can know what they offer before they step in.

The restaurant is run by a Japanese and we greeted by the shop owner once we step in the restaurant. As you enter, you will find everything Japanese from the overall ambiance and interiors.

Once you're there, you will feel like you have entered a different atmosphere altogether.
My sister kept saying she feels like in Japan as she has been there twice. #lol

There are few sitting options available at Senya, where you could choose to sit on a normal table, or dine on the tatami (Japanese style), or even have a simple meal just at the bar section.

Since we came in with 8 people, we were welcomed to our reserved table, which is opposite to the open grill kitchen.

Everyone started to look at the menu and see what's the best to order for our meal today. #ohyeah

There are 2 types menu;  you can either look through the touch screen or the traditional menu booklet.
The service was pretty fast which we all were quite surprised!
The food we ordered initially was served one by one when we just halfway browsing through the menu.

We ordered 2 plates of Salmon Sashimi as the starters, each plate costs RM11.80 which has total 5 pieces.

My brother checked through some reviews about this restaurant that many people recommended their Hokkaido grilled pork don.
So, we ordered 3 different kinds of their grilled pork don with same price at RM22 per bowl.
This is grilled pork with half boiled egg don.

This is the grilled pork mashed potato don.
If you don't like the half boiled egg like me, this would be a good option for you.

Or if you just want a simple grilled pork with white rice, then you should go for this grilled pork don!
All the grilled pork dons are highly recommended and we think this is their best signature!
The pork is grilled to perfection hey! Plus it is so juicy with it's teriyaki sauce! #ohsoyummy
Super duper thumbs up!

Salmon fish head usually is not available at all Japanese restaurants.
We usually had one located at Setia Walk long time ago, yet the quality of the food is getting poor, so we never bother to go back again.
It is so good that now we found another one; me and my dad are fish head lovers wei!
1 person of 1 port of fresh salmon fish head will definitely fill you up!
Please note this bowl of fish head at RM28 doesn't comes with any white rice which you have to order separately.

I love Japanese curry, I don't know why I actually like Japanese curry more than the Malaysian one.
Most of the curries I had from other Japanese restaurants are quite in light texture, but this pork cutlet curry rich in terms of the texture and taste.
Quite a satisfying portion at RM25, which is my next target on my second visit!

It's always good to come with a group of people so that you can also order some side dishes such as sushi.
Sushi is always my mum's favourite!

Some barbecue like sausage wrap with bacon, chicken, and lady fingers~~~

RM5.90 for 2 slices of sanma shioyaki, we ordered 2 sets here.

All the barbecue and grilled food are freshly made from the open kitchen! #howcool
It's all so well organized.

Our face can definitely tell how much we like and satisfy the food from Senya!
It is a well worth a stop for people who seeking an authentic Japanese food, and I will definitely be back again soon!
