It was not my first time since I have been to Kuching 4 times, but I would never get bored to come back again on my 3rd.
Cultural Village is a perfect place to get to know the local cultural and lifestyle, because you got to learn the different cultures in Sarawak like Malay, Chinese, Melanau, Bidayuh, Orang Utan and Iban.
And, I would say it is the most interesting attraction spot that you will not want to miss during your visit to Kuching.

If you are familiar with the famous Rainforest Wold Music Festival, I am sure you heard of this museum before.

Once you paid your entrance fees, you will see a complete map of the village on your right side.
As you can see from the map, the whole village is surrounded by a central lake.
Let's start the long walked by crossing the Bidayuh Bamboo Bridge! #sayhi
After crossing the bridge, you will get to walk into the first house, Rumah Bidayuh.
Outside the Rumah Bidayuh, you can experience the traditional method of sugar cane crushing hut.
Rumah Iban is a long house for the Ibans.
The longhouse is very long, and it can home to many families living together under one roof.

As what I know, the Ibans built their longhouses to last at least 15 to 20 years.
Besides walking through all the houses, there is also an in-house theater, where you can enjoy multicultural songs and dances performances.
But, due to other event happening on that day, the performance moved to the outdoor auditorium. #itwashot

They are 2 cultural show per day which are 11.30am till 12.15pm, and 4pm till 4.45pm.
Our trip was so much less hassle to have Kay and Stella as our tour accompanied!

After the 45 minutes performance, we walked to Rumah Penan.
Penan's specialty is manufacturing and accurate use of blowpipes.
They supposed to have a live activity where you can experience the blowpipes, but we have missed out due to the special event on that day.
Nothing much, just tooooo HOT!

Rumah Orang Ulu locates at upstairs where you need to climb up with the staircase like this small and narrow. #becareful
Inside the Orang Ulu longhouse, you are able to see the demonstrating traditional daily activities such as wood craving.
I think this is hardly can see in the city.
There is also a handicraft shop inside the longhouse.
You can buy their handmade jewelries, snacks, and accessories as the souvenirs.

The wall behind us is all wood craving by the Ulus.

Rumah Melanau is very tall and big. I guess that's the biggest house among the others.

I remembered I first saw it was performed by my Kuching's friends during our college days.
The dance involves 2 people beating, tapping, and sliding bamboo sticks on the ground and against each other in coordination with one or more dancers who step over and in between the sticks in a dance.
Trust me, it's not that easy as you see!

I believe this kind of traditional Malay house is still exist in some countrysides.

We have so much memories to share when we arrived at Chinese house,
Especially if you come with your kids, it's so much appreciate to share those stories with them.
The house is divided into 2 main parts which family room contains kitchen, eating and living area, and another side is a storage area for valuables such as bicycles or agricultural machinery.
