Where I stay in Seoul Korea @ Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro

Annyeong~~~
Can't believe that I just came back from Seoul!
For 3 years on non-stop talking on revisit to Korea, my dream finally came true when the border was reopen.
I remember the last time I blogged about Korea was 3 years ago, about a year before the Covid lockdown, can't describe how happy I was when I hopped on the plane to fly to Korea!
This time, I traveled with my best friends, Kay and Stella.
Three of us have been talking about traveling together once the border open, and we finally made it!
Yes! One of the 2022 bucket list ticked!
Can't wait to share you guys where we stay, what we eat, and where we go during the 9 days trip in Seoul.
Anyway, for the first post, as usual, I will be sharing the hotel I stayed in Seoul.
So, I was up to plan the itinerary since I had been to Seoul few times, Kay and Stella entrust on me to make plans for this Seoul trip.
I looked at several hotels nearby Myeongdong areas, at last I decided to book our stay at Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro.
I hope to share everything about Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro with you guys, and hopefully you guys can find some useful information before you book your stay with the hotel.
Let's not drag tooo far, and keep on reading!

Apparently there are 3 Travelodge hotels in Seoul; one located at City Hall, one located at Euljiro 3-ga and one located at Dongdaemun.
The reason I choose the Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro is because I am more familiar with Euljiro 3- ga area, which I thought prob makes me more convenient to move around in Seoul.
Also, I checked on google, this area is surrounded with many local restaurants and cafes, and very close to Myeongdong shopping area with walking distance.
So, without a second thought, I straight booked this hotel with the last big triple room they have available. :)

The Location

We traveled from Incheon airport to the hotel by airport limousine, number 6015 which costs us KRW17,000 each person.
Waited the airport limousine for about 10-15 mins, next took about 1 hour (I can't really remember that) to stop at "Pine Avenue" at Euljiro 2-ga, then took 3 mins to walk to the hotel.
It's super convenient!

What I can say about its location...the hotel is easily connected to many places because it is situated very close to Euljiro 3-ga subway station, only 1-2 mins walk from the hotel (just around the corner of the hotel).
And one good thing about this Euljiro 3-ga station is, it is directly connected (without any interchange stations) to some popular places, such as Hongik, Gangnam, Ewha Woman Uni, Dongdaemun History and Culture Park etc.
We indeed find this underground station really safe us from walking under the cold weather, where we can easily access to Myeondong Shopping Street and also Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).

Hotel Surrounding

We enjoyed the surroundings very much, not only it is located super near to the subway, the surroundings also very nice and friendly (not so tourist place).
There are many local restaurants and cafes around the hotel where you can enjoy a wide variety of authentic Korean dishes.

We spent one night dinner at one of the local restaurants here eating some beef dishes; assorted boiled meat slices, and beef tripe and intestine soup.
I will share another food post in Seoul with you guys, so stay tuned ya! :)

And there is one super nice authentic Korean restaurant that I highly recommend you to try if you stay at Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro.
They served very nice seafood pancake, bibimbap, bean sprout soup and homemade Makgeolli.
We aet there twice, so it's MUST try!

Located just next to the hotel, morning coffee at Side by Side cafe.

There is a CU convenient store right opposite the hotel.
It is not a very big store, but they have most of the things we needed; for instance, instant noodles and beers for our supper and also instant porridge, milk, yogurt for our breakfast. :)
Well, you can also find a 7-11 store located on the left side of the road as well.

An outdoor seating area outside the hotel.
I like sitting there alone after dinner time, drinking soju and watching people walking around here.

The Lobby & Receptionist

The staffs are very nice, friendly, and always very helpful.
Some of them speak very good English that able to assist in most of our requests.
They provided us luggage storage upon our early arrival, and also helped us to book the taxi on our last day as we had an early flight at 735 in the morning, where we need to get to the airport at 4am from the hotel.

Beautiful Christmas decorations at the receptionist. :)

The hotel also provides a seating area, phone charging station, and also computer service at the lobby area.

The Friends and Family Triple Bedroom

Let's move on to the bedroom.
Since we were traveling in a group of 3, so we booked the biggest room, friends and family triple bedroom that comes with a twin bed, and a single bed in 1 room.
The room is pretty large enough for the 3 of us.

The room is fully carpeted and provides all the basic needs; room slippers, safety box, clothes rack etc.
Everything is clean, and the beds are soft and comfortable.
For myself, I would think that it would be better if the hotel can provide 2 pillows per bed because the pillow is kinda too soft. :)

We enjoyed one of the channel, OCN they provided, with tons of good international and Korean movies that have entertained us during our stay.
Don't forget that there is also complimentary wireless Internet access is available to keep you connected 24 hours too!

The bathroom comes with separate rain shower and separate toilet room, easier for us to move easily.
There are some basic amenities offered by the bathroom, such as face towels, towels, hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel, etc.
However, me and my friends thought it would be good to have the towel rack installed inside the shower room instead of the toilet room for our conveniences. :)
Anyway, we all enjoyed the strong pressured shower so much, and also the heater worked very well that met all our expectations.
Also, thanks for helping us to change the towels everyday. :)

Stella said she enjoyed this electric bidet toilet seat every morning. #haha

There is also a minibar with refrigerator, and also daily complimentary water, instant coffee (my fav Ediya coffee in Korea) inside the room.

Other Facilities

Located at 2nd floor, there is a fitness center and laundry room where you need the room card to access.

The good thing in the hotel is they have self-coin washer and dryer so you can do your laundry, just to make sure you find the right time to do the laundry to avoid queue.
As we stayed in Seoul 9 days, so this service is kinda benefit us as we can wash some of our clothes rather than carrying a big bag of dirty laundry back home. :)

There is a microwave inside the laundry room as well, where we find it is good for us to prepare easy breakfast, like heat up the left over food from our dins, and also instant porridge we get from the convenient store.

In addition, there is also a gym room besides the laundry room.

The hotel also offers baggage weight scale at their concierge area (nearby the lift area) to keep track of our baggage weight.
Since we were traveling during winter time, we had quite many puffy, heavy jackets to bring along, the hotel is very helpful to borrow us their vacuum (more than 3 times) to pack our clothing into the vacuum bag for space saving in our luggage. #thankyoufortheextraservice

There is a big lounge area at B1, where the guests can have breakfast here.
My friend, Stella once asked for some disposable tableware for taking the breakfast in our room, and the staffs were helpful and happy to helped her out.

Last but not least, I would like to say my thanks to Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro for the 9 good stay!
We definitely enjoyed our stay at Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro throughout the trip.
To summarize things up, this hotel is very nice for the price we paid.
First, it is located at a strategic location for travelers, only 2 mins walk to the subway, whereby easily connected to others route and ktx.
Second, the area is also surrounded with many authentic Korean eateries and convenient stores to get what you need.
Third, the room is clean and comfy, staffs are friendly, and always there to help.
So, if you are planning to visit Seoul anytime soon, I totally recommend you to check out Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro and book your stay with them! ♡
