"Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are"
"I'm in love with your body
Everyday discovering something brand new
I'm in love with the shape of you"
These are the lyrics that first inspired my interest in Ed Sheeran! I admit that I don't really listen to English songs, since I mostly listen to Chinese and Korean music. I never thought that I would like Ed Sheeran until I heard his song "Thinking Out Loud". It's a beautiful love song with meaningful lyrics for couples. From there, I became a huge fan of his songs.

Ed Sheeran announced that he would have his first concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 14, 2017, but all 12,000 tickets were sold out 30 minutes after they went on sale. My brother and I were so dissapointed because we'd been waiting to see him for so long. My brother even practiced "Galway Girl" on his guitar every night. So, we came out with an idea to plan a trip to see Ed Sheeran in another country.
We found out that his world tour would stop at Scottrade Center, on September 17, 2017! This venue is located in downtown St. Louis, Missouri USA. It's a top sports and entertainment complexes, with a total of 19,150 seat. The arena hosts the professional ice hockey team in St.Louis, and it also features professional wrestling, concerts, ice-shows, family shows and other sporting events.

Due to the poor exchange rate in Malaysia recently, it's been so expensive to travel to the U.S. A Big meal from McDonald's can easily cost us RM26. Hence, we thought we'd better have our budget planned before we make a decision. I found that plane tickets would cost about RM4000 for one person, and I used HotelPlanner to search for hotels with a good price and a great location. We wanted to stay near the Scottrade Center because it would be convenient for us to walk back after the concert, in case there isn't any public transport available.
St. Louis City Center Hotel

It's not easy to get a room with cheap price near the Scottrade Center. Most of the hotels are charging more than $100 for a one-night stay. It's good to know that St. Louis City Center Hotel with 3.5 out of 5 rating from previous guests, is offering a traditional room with multiple beds for $94 per night.
The hotel features complimentary wireless Internet access, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs. Recreation opportunities include an indoor pool and a fitness center. The most important thing is the St. Louis City Center Hotel is centrally located in St. Louis, and only about a five-minute walk from the Scottrade Center!
The Hotel Majestic St. Louis

Another hotel that caught my attention is The Hotel Majestic St. Louis, which is about 10-minute walk from the Scottrade Center. The hotel looks more modern and fashionable, and it has higher rating compare to the St. Louis City Center Hotel. In addition to the basic amenities, The Hotel Majestic St. Louis also offers cable programming, a 24-hour fitness center, and a complimentary buffet breakfast everyday. The only disadvantage of this hotel is that it costs $121 for standard room with one king bed.
The Westin St. Louis

I wish we could have a bigger budget for accommodation. The Westin St. Louis costs $161 per night for a superior room with two queen beds. The hotel looks so beautiful and elegant from the pictures, and don't forget that Westin Hotels is an upscale hotel chain owned by Marriott International. I'm sure my brother would enjoy the minibar and LCD TV. I would appreciate the deep soaking bathtub and designer toiletries. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Scottrade Center, but I'm sure that we would both enjoy the Westin Heavenly Comfortable bed!
Let's keep our finger crossed that my brother is able to take two weeks off from work, since we also plan to visit our childhood friend in Chicago on this trip. Otherwise, I think that it would be too expensive to travel 23 hours with two stops just for Ed Sheeran concert. So, please pray hard that our dream will come true!
