Day 2: Jeju Island, Korea

Here comes my DAY 2 in Korea!
I have to update fast when all the memories are still fresh in mind!
Too many things to remember, and too many good things to share about Korea!

Come! Let's go with us to Jeju Island now!

********

We stayed at the Jeju Hawaii Hotel for 2 nights.
I didn't take any pictures during my stayed because it was just a simple hotel with nothing special about the interiors and decorations.
Only one strange thing is the hotel didn't provide any bath towel, but only face towel.
Luckily our tour leader from Malaysia has already advised us to bring our own towel, if not I seriously have no idea where to get one during my stay.

This hotel offered variety of breakfast choices, and mostly in Korean style.
That's what I always love the most!
Eat, play and experience different things while you are at other' s countries.

Look at their tomatoes, So damn big and fresh!
And it taste very sweet too!

Right after the heavy buffet breakfast, we started our super long day in Jeju Island.
First, we have a short stopped at a Mandarin Orange Village.
Jeju is famous with mandarin oranges, so I bought a bottle of vitamin C which made of mandarin orange.
My Korean friend told me this vitamin is famous and it is good to supply everyday too.

It was not a good day in Jeju Island.
It rained a lot in the morning when we arrived at Seongsan Ilchulbong Sunrise Peak.
I hate rain when I'm travelling, actually who does love rain during the trips?!?

Seongsan Ilchulbong Sunrise Peak actually a beautiful place where to enjoy scenic views and spectacular natiral surroundings of one of 360 parasitic volcanoes, the worlds biggest crater at seacoast.
Unfortunately, raining day is definately not a good weather to visit!

Look at me with the raincoat!
The rain was too heavy till you have no choice to either bring an umbrella or wear a raincoat!

It was a shame that we can't enjoy such beautiful scenery and take nice pictures with it!!!
Everywhere is so WET!

In Jeju Island, woman work harder than man, they are also the main income earners in the family.
Most of them in the island works as HaenYeo which refers to the women free-divers.
What do they do? Just like the picture above.
These women dive in the ocean without any special tools to gather clams, abalone, or seaweed. And they don’t go as fully equipped as scuba divers like the fishermen who go out in boats or use a rod or line.
Quite a strong characteristic woman though!

We still can find some HaenYeo staying at Seongsan Ilchulbong Sunrise Peak.
See all the houses with red roof nearby the seaside. That's where they stay!

We didnt's stay up too long over there as heavy rain was nonstop!
I hope I can come back again if I have the chance to travel to jeju Island next time!

********

Finally, rain stopped at our next spot, Seongeup Folk Village

Throughout here, we get the opportunity to see the Korean traditional folk custom material and also met up the island people who still live behind stone courtyard walls in thatched roof rock homes.

This is the Stables inside the village

The big stone behind me is where they used to keep the black-haired pigs and tongsi (pigsty/restroom). This is quite a well-known characteristic of Jeju folk culture.

The Seongeup Folk Village shows the unique culture of Jeju Island.

It is quite an interesting place to visit which I strongly advise you not to miss out if you travel to Jeju!

Lunch time!
We had the famous Jeju black pork which said to be very nutritious.
One of the reason I enjoy Korean food is they always comes with spicy and hot soup!
It's good to eat with spicy and hot soup at such a cold weather, to keep your body warm.

A photo of my mum and sister at the dining place!

After the yummylicious lunch, we visited 3 different musuems!
First, came to the Trick Art Musuem, also known as 3D Art Musuem!
I have long waited to visit this museum since I saw my friends posted their Korea trip pictures on FB. And now, I am finally here to see and take pictures by myself!

This exhibition consists of seven themed sections: Parody Zone, Animal Zone, Jurassic Zone, Aquarium Zone, Egypt Zone, Magic Zone, and Illusion Zone.
We only have 40 minutes to go around, so it's for sure that I couldn't catch every single paintings!
Actually we missed out quite a lot of paintings! Obviously, 40 minutes is definately not enough!

The Parody Zone
Throughout this zone, there are many famous paintings and sculptures.

"Mona Lisa, no smoking please!"

"A nicely frame picture with my little niece, Ashley"

"Hey! You are too heavy! Time to diet please!"

The Animal Zone
With all kind of animals and we can have various poses blending nicely with the paintings.

"Little hippo under the Big hippo"

The Jurassic Zone
All the huge animals here look fierce, aggresive, and angry!

"Ah...Please don't eat me"!

"Oh No! Please let me go!"

The Aquarium Zone
Nice and peaceful area with different sea animals!

"Hello big shark, open your mouth now"!

"Let is flow, let is flow!"

The Egypt Zone
My favourite zone with different Egypt paintings!

"Stop acting cool!"

"Hey, What's up dude!?"

Fu-Yoh!"

The Magic Zone
Here you can play around with the different illusions on your camera!

"You see me, I see you! Yes..we are true sisters"!

"Welcome to the Trick Art Museum!"

"I am a little Angel"

"Hey Kristie, run fast!"

The Illusion Zone
The most fun zone with very interesting illusion!

"What's up there!"

"Hang on there! Don't fall down!"

That's all for my favourite musuem!
A wonderful musuem that you shouldn't miss out during your Jeju trip!

********

All the 3 musuems stay pretty close with each others.
It was only less than 10 mins drive then we arrived at Jeju Glass Castle

Beautiful glass wall with my beautiful mum :P

Yes. I Do!

I am glad that my life is full of LOVE with all my family and friends!

Amazing piece with different musicians. They are all made by glass!

Happy mum with her 2 daughters at the glass castle!

It was really cold out there!

Big Bear, please hug and protect me well from the cold weather!

OPPSSS.....

Some randomly interesting glass works inside the big castle.

With mum and sis again!

If you are travelling by your own to Jeju Island, I would suggest you to skip this exhibition unless you are a glass fans. If not, I don't find it so interesting.
There are actually more other museums to visit such as LoveLand.

Last visit of the day in Jeju Island! The Teddy Bear Museum
One of the must visit musuem in Korea!

You will immediately turn like a kid once you enter to this teddy bear word!
And I am sure you will feel very impress with lotsa teddy bears collection with different costumes and styles!

Hello, big teddy bear with Tarzan outfit!

These 2 pictures were taken at the Safari Zone with my 2 cute nieces!

Welcome to the Under Sea world with teddy bears!

Mermaid teddy bear! "Kinda creative"

I met myself, Hippo inside the musuem! Haha!

I am just like my nieces! Full of happiness and excitement when meet up with all kind of bears!

Of coz a YES for you, my dear!

I am one of the cute bears family!

All the teddy bears behind me wear different costumes according to the countries they come from!

Bye, Teddy bear! I will miss you max!

********

We ended the whole day trip at about 6pm.

Here comes the dinner right after all the visits!
Yes, we do deserve a good dinner after the super exhausted day!
We had Godeumuea Jolim, a kind of fish from there.
Again, my favourite spicy soup served on the dinner! LIKE IT!

I think my smile on some pictures turned to very stiff after facing too much of camera!
Anyway, it was a good and well experienced day in Jeju Island.
We will fly back to Seoul again tomorrow morning at flight 7.10am!
So, guess what time we have to get up the next day?!?
Arghhh!!

Needed a one night stay in New Orleans, but didn't want to be in the thick of the French Quarter, but more on the outskirts website for finding hotels showed me a hotel that was not listed on most of the sites. Got a great room at a great rate. Go rates compare!
